4. Meryl Streep Isn't Dead - Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

The trailer for the long-gestating Mamma Mia sequel heavily implies that Meryl Streep's Donna has died, with much of the movie taking the Godfather Part II approach of using flashbacks to further explore her character (with Lily James playing a young Donna).

However, it's incredibly suspicious that none of the marketing, from the trailers to the synopsis, will flat-out state that Donna is indeed dead. It could be a ploy to make sure fans show up to find out for themselves, but let's face it, fans of the first film will be there day one regardless of some weird death mystery.

We know that Streep will appear in the film in some form, and while this could merely be through flashbacks, it's also easy to believe she'll make a surprise appearance in act three, alive in the present.

Perhaps Donna gets lost at sea and is "presumed missing" for most of the film before turning up unannounced. It would seem needlessly grim to have Donna die when all people want from a Mamma Mia movie is ABBA karaoke featuring celebrities.

Whatever eventually happens, there's definitely something fishy going on here.
