10 Upcoming Movies With Incredibly Stupid Titles

7. The Divergent Series: Allegiant - Part 1

The Film: Young adult cinema attracts fan passion to such an extent that a moderately successful first film can lead to all subsequent movies in the series getting green-lit immediately. Such is the case with Divergent, which will have its sequels released like clockwork in the March of the next three years. The third film, which is adapting first half of the final book in the trilogy, will see our hero gearing up to take on the evil rulers. Or at least that's what we imagine will happen; that's what The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is doing after all. The Title: Young adult movie franchises all use rather over the top titles that forces in the overarching name (normally just the title of the first movie) lest their obsessive fans don't realise their latest movie is actually part of that series they love. Yeah, it's pretty illogical when you think about it for longer than a second. We've already had The Twilight Saga, The Hunger Games and this year's The Maze Runner will boast sequels listed as Chapter X. Divergent, however, is by far the worst; it's not going for hyperbole or succinctness, instead just calling itself The Divergent Series. There's no creativity to it or even a sense that any effort was put in - we'd take the shorter Divergent: Allegiant over it any day of the week - with it looking particularly ridiculous with that whole Part 1 addition.
