10 Upcoming Movies That Aren't What You Think

4. It Isn't Chris Hemsworth's Last Thor Movie - Thor: Love & Thunder

For a while, many believed that Avengers: Endgame would mark the end of Chris Hemsworth's MCU tenure, given that it completed his contractual obligations to Marvel Studios, and the film concluded with Thor appointing Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) the leader of New Asgard.

But of course, Hemsworth recently wrapped shooting Thor: Love and Thunder, and without any word of him signing a new MCU contract, many are wondering whether he made the movie as a one-off to formally hand over the Thor name to either Thompson or Natalie Portman, whose Jane Foster will become a female version of Thor during the film.

However, last year in an interview Hemsworth confirmed that he has no plans to leave the MCU after Love and Thunder, seeming to suggest that Thor definitely doesn't die nor is he "retired" in the film. He said:

"Are you crazy?! I'm not going into any retirement period. Thor is far too young for that. He's only 1,500 years old... It's definitely not a film that I say goodbye to this brand. At least I hope so."

It's of course possible that Hemsworth is lying in order to conceal the fact that he will be bowing out at the end of the movie, but his reaction honestly seems genuine.

He's certainly not aging out of the role by any means, so he'll surely be back for future MCU movies in some form.
