10 Upcoming Movies That Will Change Your Mind About Actors

9. Pixels - Peter Dinklage

Johnny Depp Black Mass1
Columbia Pictures

For someone who doesn't seem to make any bad career decisions, Peter Dinklage has a couple of head-scratchers coming up. He seems to be drawn to comedies, including playing a man passing himself off as a leprechaun in O'Lucky Day, but you have to worry that his decision to play any part in an Adam Sandler vehicle might be bad news.

In Pixels, Dinklage plays a veteran retro gamer - a tattooed bad boy with a mullet - which would be a lot more intriguing if he wasn't teaming up with Sandler to help facilitate his eternal man-child act.

Yes, Chris Columbus directing should mean a gleeful adventurous spirit, but Sandler was involved in additional writing (always a bad move) and he is unfortunately fond of caricatures. Which that mullet has stamped all over it.

Could this be a rare blip for Dinklage?

Will It Last?

His upcoming comedy slate is less interesting than his former indie work, but then he's pretty much the funniest thing about Game Of Thrones, so you can see where the work is coming from.

And at least he's in more exalted company than Sandler (who is admittedly good in the right films) for some of the other projects. It's just a shame he appears to be slumming it.
