You can say a lot of things about Mel Gibson, but you can't accuse the guy of just resting on his laurels and churning out the same old movies over and over again.
Fatman will see Gibson star as an "unorthodox" version of Santa Claus, who finds himself targeted by an assassin known only as Skinny Man (Walton Goggins).
The party responsible for this debacle? A precocious 12-year-old who hires Skinny Man after receiving a lump of coal from Santa as a present. Genius.
It goes without saying that on paper this role will give Gibson plenty to chew through, and the entertainment value of him squaring off against the ever-watchable Goggins really does speak for itself.
That there's a young kid in the middle only makes it that much more amusingly ridiculous. If nothing else, it's sure to be a fiercely unique Christmas film.
