10 Upcoming Movies With INSANE Premises

These films are gonna be absolutely hog wild.

There are more good and great movies being released every single month than anyone can possibly hope to keep up with, and sad as it is to say, many of them simply end up getting lost in the shuffle. And so, often it's the more provocative and offbeat films which end up rising to the top, especially if they have the good fortune to go viral per the sheer absurdity of their premise.

That's quite likely to be the case with the following 10 upcoming movies, each of which are rocking wildly off-the-wall concepts that'll immediately garner the attention of, well, just about anyone.

Now, of course, it doesn't mean each of these movies will actually be good, because we've all seen "crazzzzzy" films that fail to make the most of their setup, but all the same, the ideas themselves will embed deep in your consciousness once you learn about them.

From buck-wild dark comedies to outrageous social satires, innovative horror films, and everything else in-between, these are the most fiercely, unapologetically unhinged movies due to release in the near-future.

And now, fingers are crossed that they end up delivering on all that deranged promise...

10. Death of a Unicorn

A24's new horror-comedy Death of a Unicorn looks absolutely wild, revolving around a man, Elliot (Paul Rudd), and his teenage daughter Ridley (Jenna Ortega), who accidentally crash their car into a unicorn, seemingly killing it.

Before long, Elliot's bosses seize the unicorn's body and attempt to exploit its magical, apparently cancer-curing properties for their own material gain, only for another, vengeful unicorn to show up and start wreaking murderous havoc on them.

The first trailer sells this movie as an absolute riot, and probably the strangest project that either Rudd or Ortega has ever been involved with. However, this isn't to ignore the film's crackerjack supporting cast, which includes Richard E. Grant, Will Poulter, Anthony Carrigan, and Tea Leoni - the latter of whom spouts the instantly meme-worthy one-liner, "That horn was rather girthsome." Quite.

Even though A24 is currently attempting to break into more mainstream, commercial fare, it's a relief to see that they're still helping unhinged, original ideas like this get made.
