10 Upcoming Sequels Which Could Actually Be Worth Your Time

10. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

While it has had its ups and downs, if you ignore the dreadful second installment to the Mission: Impossible franchise, directed by John Woo seemingly on autopilot, it's a series which is frequently lives up to audience expectations. With Christopher McQuarrie set to direct Rogue Nation there's good reason to believe the top quality streak is set to continue. Brad Bird might have disappointed with his latest film Tomorrowland but he certainly didn't when it came to the previous Mission: Impossible movie - Ghost Protocol is certainly a high bar to match, but with McQuarrie's track record there's a good chance it'll be every bit as entertaining. While he's only directed two movies prior to Rogue Nation, both The Way Of The Gun and Jack Reacher clearly demonstrate a director with a knack for action. It's perhaps a testament to the overall quality of the franchise that a fourth sequel is still something to look forward to, but if there's one thing the Mission: Impossible series generally gets right it's in bringing in new talents for each installment. Hopefully Rogue Nation will continue the trend. Anticipation factor: with a franchise this reliable, a familiar cast and a director with a proven track record, Rogue Nation should deliver the goods Release date: July 31st, 2015
