Classic comedies can often get overlooked - a constant deluge of new releases sometimes overshadows great films of old, and many of them run the risk of getting lost in time. That's unlikely to happen to Billy Wilder's comedy classic Some Like It Hot, starring Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and Marylin Monroe. Curtis and Lemmon star as two down on their heels jazz musicians desperate for work, who take it upon themselves to pose as women so that they can get a gig performing with an all-girl group. A perfect set-up for screwball madness, Some Like It Hot is perhaps Wilder's finest comedy, delivering a laugh every minute, not to mention a great performance from the sultry and sexy Monroe. It's hardly surprising that the American Film Institute ranked Some Like It Hot as the greatest American comedy of all time back in 2000 - a ringing endorsement if ever there was one that this is a film everyone should see.
