1. Burt Reynolds
You thought I was going to leave him out, didn't you? Think again! When I think of classic car movies, I think of: Gumball Rally, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, Vanishing Point, Stoker Ace, Cannonball Run, and of course Smokey and the Bandit. Burt Reynolds' J.J. McClure defines this list. He is Fast & Furious for the previous era, and I'd like to think that if we were bringing out the old warhorses for a go, that Burt would be first on the list. I can't find it in me to believe that without movies like Smokey and the Bandit, that the Fast and the Furious would exist as it does today. TFATF owes these actors a debt of gratitude, as it's because of their iconic roles that this franchise and the ones that have come before it even exist. Even with the entries such as Eastwood and Johnson, you can see a lot of their performances in Paul Walker. The one thing they all have in common is that they are all known for portraying characters that have vehicles that act as sort of characters of their own. That's the spirit of this franchise, and I'd love to see them show homage in the future by including of these actors that helped make the franchise so popular.
