In this Korean-American collaboration is a recreation of the real-world operation 'Trudy Jackson', which was a reconnaissance mission run by members of the South Korean army in the build-up to the Battle of Incheon in 1950.

Following the near-total invasion of South Korea by its Northern counterpart, several South Korean operatives are sent to gather vital intelligence so that the US Navy can launch an invasion to recapture Incheon.

Under the leadership of Captain Jang Hak-soo, who had previously defected from North Korea, eight members of X-Ray unit conduct the operation. They infiltrate Incheon and impersonate the enemy as an inspection unit, managing to trick their way directly into the command centre.

After determining the location of the key defences and strongholds that the invaders had set up, they are shortly discovered as infiltrators by Commander Lim Gye-jin. En route to securing a beach section for the landing to take place, many members of X-Ray are killed.

Upon reaching the beach, Jang is triumphant in disabling several artillery weapons and destabilising North Korea's defensive capabilities on the beach, but he is killed in a final confrontation with Lim.
