10 Ways Avengers: Age Of Ultron Will Set Up Civil War
2. There's Tension From The Start
Late last year, an interesting leak landed online, with a clip from Age of Ultron showing the philosophical differences between Cap and Iron Man as the pair are chopping wood at an uncharacteristically tranquil, remote location of some kind. Some of the more telling dialogue includes the following:
Cap: Sometimes my teammates don't tell me things. Stark: I don't trust a guy without a dark side. Call me old fashioned. Steve: Well, let's just say you haven't seen it yet. Tony: would end the team. Isn't that the mission? Isn't that the "why" we fight, so we can end the fight? So we get to go home? Steve: Every time someone tries to end a war before it starts, innocent people die. Every time.
The clip is presumed to be from early on in Age of Ultron, likely shortly after Ultron has been introduced, and it demonstrates a major difference of opinion between the two from pretty much the outset. Expect this tone to run consistently throughout the movie, and in doing so, will neatly set things up for Civil War.
