10 Ways Back To The Future Would Look Completely Different In 2015

4. George McFly's Job

Back To The Future 2015

In 1955 high school student George McFly was a unassuming loner.

Riding a skateboard to school on the back of a Jeep is something George would never have done, it would have been far too dangerous. No, George got his kicks climbing trees and watching women get undressed. Remember, this was before the internet.

At school George wanted to write science fiction, an ideal that tapped into teenage dreams in the 50s as the "Space Race" began. It chimed with young Americans during the film's initial release as the technology explosion of the 80s made it arguably the most exciting decade of the 20th Century.

Marty saw a lot of himself in his younger Father, a head full with ideas but afraid of rejection, except George McFly cowered in Biff Tannen's shadow. Boo hiss.

Bullied characters really hadn't been portrayed all that positively in movies up until this point but his journey from zero to hero resonated surprisingly well with cinema-goers and the enduring ethos and gentle charm of George McFly underpins the whole Back To The Future story and shouldn't be messed with, although naturally it needs a little updating.

So what career dream would he be chasing back in a 1985 world filled with personal stereos, mobile phones, colour televisions and fax machines?

Future CEO at Apple. It's like Doc said... "If you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything".
