10 Ways DC Are Already Failing To Mimic Marvel's Success

10. They're Making It Up As They Go Along

Apart from a few Easter Eggs mentioning Wayne Industries and LexCorp, there were no indications in Man Of Steel that Superman lived in a world inhabited by other superheroes. After being introduced in Batman V Superman and Justice League, a bunch of heroes will be thrown into their own solo outings, movies which sound an awful lot like prequels. There doesn't appear to be any sort of overarching plan to tie any of these together in a cohesive way. Moviegoers are expected to accept that these characters live in the same world. When it comes down to it, Justice League is being used as little more than a tool to forcibly create franchises. Marvel, on the other hand, had a (vague) plan from the start; they released two movies in 2008, and, after introducing S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury, and the "Avengers Initiative" in Iron Man, Tony Stark turned up in The Incredible Hulk to tease a clash between the team and Green Goliath (that was the original idea before Joss Whedon came on board).
