10 Ways Marvel Can Stop The MCU From DYING

7. Focus On A New Avengers Line-Up

Since Avengers: Endgame essentially saw the dissolution of the O.G. Avengers four-and-a-half years ago, Marvel fans have been wondering when the MCU might get around to formally forging a new era of the superhero supergroup.

We of course know that this will happen by the time Avengers: The Kang Dynasty releases in 2026 (for now), but almost a half-decade removed from Endgame's conclusion, it's baffling how little forward momentum has been made in that regard.

Part of the problem, inexorably, is that the current line-up of heroes both new and old isn't the most immediately compelling, especially compared to the original six Avengers. And the fact that they're all disparately strewn across the universe only makes it that much trickier to figure out.

Though rumours and common sense both suggest that we'll be seeing Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans back for Avengers: Secret Wars as multiversal variants of Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, this is very much an "in case of emergency, break glass" stop-gap rather than a true solution to The Avengers Problem.

The MCU desperately needs a robust Avengers line-up that can help carry the franchise forward for the next few phases, whether a Young Avengers roster led by Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) and Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), or a broader group that brings the remaining frontline heroes into contact with Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany), Daredevil (Charlie Cox), and so on.

Creating a balanced Avengers line-up with the many heroes at their disposal won't be easy, but without it, the MCU hasn't got a hope in hell of recapturing the glories of its first three phases.
