1. The Mandarin Actually Being The Mandarin - Iron Man 3
The Mandarin is to Iron Man what Lex Luthor is to Superman or what the Joker is to Batman. After two movies in which the titular hero's villains were, frankly, less than inspiring, the announcement and subsequent trailers leading audiences to believe that the powerful martial artist with ten alien rings would be coming to the big screen made everyone very excited - especially as the brilliant Ben Kingsley would be portraying him. Then the realisation set in - for many, whilst actually watching the movie itself - that the character would be sullied by portraying him as a bumbling British actor working on behalf of the real villain, Aldrich Killian. Audiences expected a classic villain, but what they got was a modern spin that made them all die a little bit inside. So there you have it - ten ways Marvel movies misled you.
