10 Ways Technology Is Ruining Awesome Movies

2. Mobile Viewing

Alright, this one is me being fussy, and it's really down to personal choices, but I always feel like groaning when I see someone watching a film on their 6-inch mobile phone screen, all the more so if it's a great film. Though there's an obvious appeal in watching films on the move and while you're crammed on a busy train, watching a likely low-quality version of an awesome film on a small screen causes viewers to miss so much visual detail of the picture, and is absolutely not how the filmmakers would have wanted you to see the film. Granted, iPads and tablets make portable viewing a little more amenable, but still, you can't beat watching a great film on the biggest screen you can find, be it at home or in the cinema. To watch a long-anticipated film on your mobile phone dilutes the magic of the experience. Or perhaps I'm just being miserable.
