10 Ways The DC Extended Universe Could End

2. It Becomes A Wonder Woman Series

If there's one aspect of the DC Extended Universe Warner Bros should leave unchanged, it's Wonder Woman. Due to the success of her solo debut, the studio will no doubt be keen to retain the services of director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot.

Providing Wonder Woman 2 lives up to the original, it's safe to assume there will be further Diana Prince adventures set within the same continuity, and therefore the same timeline as Justice league and the wider DCEU.

If the Amazon warrior continues to be the only character the series gets right, there's a chance she could be the only one to fly the flag with this continuity going forward. The overarching story could be compressing into a series of Wonder Woman sequels.

So what would this mean for DC and Warner's other sub-series? Well, Batman and Superman movies would no doubt continue, but likely with recast actors and hard reboots. All of the other planned movies, the likes of Green Lantern Corps and Batgirl, will be disconnected from the DCEU in favour of telling standalone stories.

The shared cinematic universe's legacy would remain alive, with the events of Justice League shaping Wonder Woman's world in her solo sequels and other DCEU characters potentially making occasional cameos, even though its format will have shifted drastically.

In some respects, this could be the most viable option.
