9. Less Clever, Complex Easter Eggs

For all the accusations that Snyder doesn't know comic book movies, he certainly knows comic books. Or at least how to put references to them in his films in such a way that it takes months after release for fans to truly appreciate the level of depth in the detail he added.

Both Man Of Steel and Batman v Superman are peppered with those embedded references - not just to the comics but to his own films - and while it's foolish to suggest that Easter Eggs are a key film-making element, but they add something huge to the community of fans. Plus, they're a pillar of Snyder's work that has led to greater longevity in the appraisal of his work.

There will no doubt still be Easter Eggs in DCEU films, but Wonder Woman proved to have less than Snyder typically shoe-horns in, and that's a disappointing inevitability for the rest of the DCEU.
