10 Ways The Hunger Games Films Were Almost Completely Different

1. Mockingjay Part 1's Ending Changed

When it was announced that Mockingjay would be split into two films, fans immediately began to speculate about how they'd end part one. Apparently, the original plan was to end the movie immediately after Peeta attacked Katniss, with no indication that either or both had survived. This would have been an incredible cliffhanger for people who'd not read the books (and pretty heartbreaking for all the Team Peeta teens out there). Instead, the filmmakers added an extra scene so everyone watching would know that Katniss and Peeta were both fine (albeit a little mentally messed up in the latter's case). It was, unfortunately, a somewhat lukewarm ending but there's still plenty of time for shocking and awing (and teen heart-breaking) in Mockingjay Part 2.
