10 Ways William Shatner Can Play Kirk Again In Star Trek 3

8. Grown Old In The Nexus

It is possible that Kirk didn't really die in Star Trek: Generations. Kirk and Picard were trapped in the Nexus, the space anomaly that allowed you to live out your life in bliss as long as you didn't mind that none of it was real. So when the two captains went and battled Dr Soran on Veridian III which resulted in Kirk being crushed under a collapsing bridge, all that could be explained as another event in the Nexus ribbon and therefore it didn't really happen. So where does that leave Shatner-Kirk? Well he's still trapped in the Nexus. In Star Trek: Generations, he seemed quite content with living his dream life in the Nexus and maybe it was fun for a while. But Kirk being Kirk, he might come to the realization that a fake life is no life at all and decides to leave the Nexus on his own accord. He wants his own life back, the way it should be so he decides to find Spock. As Nimoy-Spock is now in the alternative timeline, that is where the Nexus takes him. But if everything that happened after Star Trek: Generations occurred in the Nexus, that also means that the events in First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis never happened and that could be a blessing in disguise.
