2. Amber and Giuseppe - Swept Away
Madonna's movie career is constantly hammered by everybody and anybody. And for good reason. Swept Away is a repugnant piece of self-indulgent bile from Guy Ritchie, that's sole purpose is to big up his wife and leading lady. Watching Swept Away, you wouldn't think it bared any resemblance to the romance genre, for there is no lust, humour or eroticism. Just two dull characters, played by two people who cannot act, performing a script that's seemingly written by somebody who has never spoke to an actual person. It's a romance that's apparently been created to show off the worst of Madonna and her loathesome character. Everything about the romance, and the film in general is disastrous, as the characters are fundamentally unlikeable, and they don't even seem to like each other, regardless of what the synopsis says. You would feel bad for those involved if they hadn't put you through torture for 90 minutes. Guy Ritchie's intentions for creating the movie are weird, and the outcome is even weirder.
