In the Coen brothers' 2018 Western anthology film The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, Zoe Kazan appears among the ensemble cast as Alice Longabaugh, a woman making a wagon train journey to Oregon in order to get married.

Though Kazan's performance was generally praised by critics, Twitter user @SamBrod had a different opinion, calling her work "frustrating to watch," while committing the cardinal, mean-spirited sin of also tagging Kazan's Twitter account in the post.

This prompted a frustrated Kazan to make a most unexpected response:

"Solid example of when not to tag an artist in your tweet about their work… Like I am not a restaurant, this is not yelp, I don't need to know that you found the meal overly salty... To recap: let's try not to say things to each other online that wouldn't be rude/antisocial to say to someone's face? seems…basic."

The user in question swiftly apologised, citing their unfamiliarity with Twitter as a platform, after which both he and Kazan deleted their respective tweets. A happy ending, sort of?
