3. Bruce Willis Tried To Calm Angry Columnist Complaining About PG-13 Rating - Live Free Or Die Hard

A few months before the release of the fourth Die Hard film, Live Free or Die Hard, it was confirmed that the film would have a PG-13 rating, the first entry in the predominantly R-rated franchise to do so.

Fans were naturally upset, but perhaps none more so than Ain't It Cool News columnist Vern, who penned a 1,700 word, profanity-laden open letter to Fox, urging them to reconsider the sanitised audience rating.

The letter quickly went viral, enough that it eventually caught the attention of none other than Bruce Willis himself, who a few days later posted a response to the message on AICN in an attempt to calm fans' fears about the rating:

"As someone who worked on the picture, and has seen a cut of it, I would suggest that all the yakkin' over the PG-13 issue hang onto their weapons for now... Live Free or Die Hard is an in-your-face, hard-ass Action movie that will satisfy Vern, and anyone else who is a fan of the Die Hard series. All PG-13 means is that you cannot say f**k more than twice. Other than that, the Mythology of Die Hard lives."

Of course, Willis was talking a load of bull here, as though the movie actually turned out pretty well, the brutal violence of the first three movies was sorely lacking.

Hell, even the Unrated DVD release largely only added blood to scenes via cheap-and-easy visual effects.
