2. A Surprise Appearance From... Mantis?!

This was a weird one. After a mysterious woman was spotted in the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron, speculation started running rampant. Kevin Feige later said that the woman in the cave was just a random piece of imagery that Disney marketing department liked and wanted to use, but with Joss Whedon revealing that Thor's subplot was dramatically cut, it's clear that she must have had some sort of role in the sequel at some point in time. Mantis is a very obscure character who is perhaps best known for being a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, but she does also have some ties to Earth Mightiest Heroes. Whether she was supposed to be that woman in the cave is unclear (probably not though as most now believe she was just a random Asgardian leading Thor back into his hallucination), but Mantis was supposed to appear to bridge the gap between the two franchises regardless. Needless to say, she didn't, and where the hell they managed to pick her name from is impossible to say, as is guessing when and where she would have shown up!
