10 Most Wildly Inconsistent Actors In Movie History

9. Mark Wahlberg

It's no surprise that movie-goers are often confused when they see Mark Wahlberg in a film. It's almost as if there are two actors who look exactly the same but are operating on completely opposite ends of the talent spectrum, after all. Which is another way of saying that Wahlberg can be a great actor, or he can be the worst actor in the room. Seriously. The man has given confident, memorable performances in movies like Boogie Nights and The Departed... and then he goes a lays down a performance as bizarrely putrid as the one in The Happening. What gives? How does Mark Wahlberg weigh whether or not he's going to act like an A-lister, or a contestant from a reality TV show who won a competition to play the lead actor in a blockbuster? Because those are the categories we're dealing with here, and it can often prove to be a rather frustrating experience - purely for the fact that it's impossible to know whether or not Wahlberg is actually good at acting or not. Seriously, does anybody know? Can we apply some sort of science magic in an attempt to work it out?
