10 Wonderfully Insane Movie Characters

5. Alex DeLarge

"What we were after now was the old surprise visit. That was a real kick, and good for laughs and lashings of the old ultra-violence." I think I can consider myself as part of the very little minority that hated Alex DeLarge in A Clockwork Orange. He was a very dangerous and violent sociopath in a sick, twisted world. His crimes were nothing but a reflection of a monster that was blood-thirsty all the time. A monster that wished nothing else but to see pain and destruction all over the place. So it was very interesting to see how his character developed during his horryfing "treatment" in a mental institution. It actually makes you wonder who the real monster is. The way the character is treated and how he is developed through the movie is done extremely well, it makes you wonder how his life was before he was like that. Maybe he was like that from the beginning. Maybe he was pushed to that extreme by the society he lived in. Whatever the reason may be behind his insanity, he still is one of the greatest characters to be ever associated with cinema
