10 Worst CGI Moments From 2022 Movies

9. The Plane Escape - The Gray Man

The Russo brothers' The Gray Man was one of the year's most disappointing films, yet perhaps the most flabbergasting aspect of this dreadfully generic "blockbuster" is how atrocious the CGI frequently looked for a $200 million movie.

And this is never more apparent than during the horrendous first act sequence where Six (Ryan Gosling) ends up free-falling from a flaming plane.

The minute-long sequence is a headache-inducing mess of blurry, goopy VFX that borders on incomprehensible: a terrible 3D model of "Gosling" falling through a hideous, smoky sky environment while trying to grab hold of a bad guy who jumped before him.

The Russos' decision to continually spin the camera around doesn't make it any better, and while few films have the logistical capability to do this stunt practically - short of hiring Tom Cruise, of course - there's no reason the effects should look this ugly.

That the guys who directed the last two Avengers films followed up with a blockbuster so patently amateur-looking, despite it costing about as much as your average MCU film, is totally shocking.
