10 Worst Female Movie Characters Of 2014

6. The Blood Widow - Blood Widow

Blood Widow is a fairly straightforward throwback to slasher films of yesteryear. You know, the ones where poking around where you don€™t belong gets you killed. Having sex gets you killed. Not heeding obvious warnings gets you killed. Well, you get the idea here - everyone gets killed. After a good amount of time is spent on setting up just how disposable (and annoying) our main characters are, the mysterious Blood Widow (Gabrielle Ann Henry) becomes the focus of the film. In a nutshell, she was a young girl who had a traumatizing childhood, so now she kills people. While the aesthetics of the doll-faced killer is admittedly impressive (her look is a cross between Edward Scissorhands and Karl Ruprecht Kroenen from Hellboy), she is still painfully stereotypical. She moves in silence, seemingly can't be killed and wears a creepy mask. You can almost picture the filmmakers reasoning that if they make their killer a female then nobody would notice that she is exactly the same as every other masked movie killer of the last thirty years. The worst part is that she€™ll likely be back for a sequel soon enough.
