Netflix's new thriller The Last Days of American Crime is the worst-reviewed movie of 2020 so far, sitting at an ice-cold 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film takes place in a dystopian future where the government is imminently due to transmit a signal which prevents people from committing crimes, but not before criminal Graham Bricke (Graham Bricke) attempt to pull off one last heist.

It's a neat enough premise but a wretched, bloated, 149-minute slog of a movie, full of terrible characters and none more so than Kevin Cash (Michael Pitt), the mega-rich mastermind behind the heist.

Though Pitt gives the only memorable and remotely energetic performance in the movie, Cash is a migraine-inducingly noisy and over-the-top cartoon of a character, and before long his incessant mugging and quipping becomes as much a chore to sit through as everything else.

If the movie's other characters are beige enough to fade into obscurity, Cash is a giant neon sign in human form - tacky, loud, and nobody wants to be around him for long.
