10 Worst Movie Characters Of 2021 (So Far)
1. James Ford - Cosmic Sin
It's no secret that Bruce Willis has been sleepwalking his way through most of his movie projects over the last decade, and the latest just might be his most shameless of the lot.
Cosmic Sin is a straight-to-VOD sci-fi action film starring Willis as James Ford, a disgraced former military leader who ends up caught in the middle of a potential interstellar war.
There isn't a single drop of emotional truth in Willis' performance, the actor so uncaring in his delivery and so obviously wishing he were playing golf or doing anything else, that it's never at all possible to buy into Ford as a character.
Despite the intriguing potential of his deeply troubled backstory - involving giving an order which caused the deaths of 70 million people - there's no nuance or really any character at all to Ford beyond "Bruce Willis in an armoured metal suit."
If Willis, whose screen time is limited and often padded by obvious body doubles, can't be bothered to invest in this guy, then why the hell should the audience?
Willis has played some forgettable characters over the last decade in particular, but never quite such an utter charisma void of a protagonist. Don't be surprised if Bruce is up for yet another Razzie award next year.
