10 Worst Movies From Otherwise Great Franchises

2. Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull - Indiana Jones Franchise

Indiana Jones 4
Paramount Pictures

Other Films: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

The original Indiana Jones Trilogy is masterful on virtually every level and in terms of adventure films, they are pretty much the gold standard - yes, that includes the slightly more divisive Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, which is an absolutely astonishing action film. The Last Crusade is slightly weaker, but is still fantastic overall.

A new Indiana Jones film was actually a perfectly acceptable idea and with Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Harrison Ford on-board, it seemed destined to be a worthy successor to the original films. It wasn't. At all.

By far one of the worst blockbusters of modern times, this is completely wrecked by mostly terrible acting, a laughable villain, an appallingly awful story and ultra-forgettable action sequences that are filled with cringe-worthy CGI shenanigans.

Disney are still pushing ahead with Indiana Jones 5 and hey, it could be a good send-off for Indiana Jones. Still, it's better to go in with low expectations, for this fourth film was a horrifyingly disappointing experience and the idea of a repeat of that is unbearable.
