5. The Hustle

It's pointless these days complaining about Hollywood needlessly remaking things that didn't need it, but when it's as badly fudged as this redo of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, it's an important part of the conversation.

Originally titled Nasty Women, this mirthless "comedy" remake has to work hard to justify its own existence all the way through and never once manages to raise even a single cogent point. Quite how something with Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson together could be this thoroughly charmless is quite remarkable.

It's almost like they've set about destroying Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, rather than just remaking it, because everything about that film - its naughtiness, its satire, its dark wit and its engaging but grotesque characters - is either excised entirely or traded down on badly.
