10 Worst Oscar Nominated Performances Of All Time

1. Melissa McCarthy - Bridesmaids

And yet, Bullock's win is still not quite as bad as crapping in a sink and getting an Oscar nomination for it. Yes, Paul Feig's Bridesmaids was a fun rom-com that showed films about women are generally much better when women are actually writing about them, and that they can be just as crude as the guys. Is this point really deserving of an Oscar, though? Melissa McCarthy, who played the boorish, unpleasant, overweight Megan, somehow ended up garnering an Oscar nomination for an entertaining but shallow and ultimately quite irritating performance, the most famous component of which was a bout of food poisoning causing her to defecate in a sink. I love crude humour, but are we really giving out award nominations to this sort of thing now? It completely beggars belief, and nearly made me lose every last scrap of faith I have in the Oscars. Which Oscar nominated performances do you think are the worst? Let us know in the comments below.
