10 Worst Performances In The DCEU (So Far)

2. Jesse Eisenberg - Lex Luthor

Suicide Squad Enchantress
Warner Bros.

Although he gives the same performance in most movies, Jesse Eisenberg is capable of being very good. This performance is easily the worst of his career though.

A high-pitched, screeching and cringe-worthy performance, Eisenberg comes across more as some badly behaved rich kid whose had too much caffeine, not as an evil billionaire genius at all. He's never, ever intimidating and seemed to think he was playing a completely different character in a completely different movie.

Not only was this giggly performance unconvincing, it was also annoying as hell too and was one of the worst villainous performances in any recent blockbuster. Sure, Gene Hackman's performance as Lex Luthor in the 1978 Superman film is pretty weak but Eisenberg makes that performance look Oscar-worthy.

More than anything else, this was fatal miscasting. It's hard to imagine Jesse Eisenberg would ever have worked as Lex Luthor and he didn't improve in his post-credits cameo in Justice League either.
