10 Worst Villains In Film History

4. Everyone In Prometheus - Prometheus

In the Alien series, we expect good villains. The space horror genre is defined in no small part due to the contributions of Ridley Scott in this series. Whether it's the suspenseful horror of the original or the action-packed gore fest of the sequel, there are a few things we assume from this franchise: an obviously threatening entity of unknown origin, creative deaths for the heroes we've gotten to know intimately, and that chill down our spine that we know will be lingering there for hours after the lights come up. Prometheus fails to deliver on all fronts. While the movie might be great as an existential exploration of origin philosophies and a consideration of the ultimate "Why are we here?" question that plagues mankind... we want to see scary crap. The familiar xenomorph doesn't show up until the very last shot of the film and the Engineers that clearly want us dead don't really do much. The only survivor punches a couple humans and goes on his merry way. David, the robot, is suspicious, infecting one of the crew members with a biological weapon that wreaks quite a bit of havoc, but is then bizarrely altruistic later on. The personification of horror is completely lost in this film. A blow that's all the more disappointing since it's coming from the same director who mastered the art so many years ago.
