10 Worst Ways Movie Characters Have Died In Space

1. Sucked Into Space Piece-By-Piece - Alien Resurrection

Total Recall
20th Century Fox

Alien Resurrection may be the weakest entry in the quadrilogy, but the unnecessary sequel has some redeeming qualities. The basketball shot is epic, the clone scene is surprisingly harrowing, and the underwater chase is the closest the film comes to matching the tension of its predecessors.

And, of course, you can't forget about the Newborn... no, really. You can't forget it since he has the most painful death in the entire series.

After the Xenomorph hybrid is about to kill Call, Ripley uses her acidic blood to create a hole in the window, sucking the alien out of the ship. Even though the hole is an inch wide, the decompression is so intense, it rips the alien apart, causing it to be hurled into space piece-by-piece. Watching its intestines burst out of its bodies only to have them vacuumed up and spat out through its back is an image that'll be burned into viewers' minds forever.

Even though we know the Newborn is just an elaborate puppet, it's impossible not be moved (and disgusted) while it wails in agony as its torn apart. Many people may have been disappointed by the Newborn's design but his demise was unforgettably traumatic.
