10 WTF Scenes In Otherwise Awesome Recent Movies

Evil Dead Rise kept the series' impressive winning streak firmly in tact, even if director Lee Cronin ultimately saved the worst for last. After 90 minutes of gut-wrenching suspense and brutal violence, the movie's final boss ends up being more comically goofy than terrifying.

Beth's (Lily Sullivan) final hurdle to freedom is the Deadite Marauder - a fusion of her sister Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland) and her children Danny (Morgan Davies) and Bridget (Gabrielle Echols).

While the intent was clearly for the Marauder to be a grotesque chimera of Beth's loved ones, the resulting monster looks too silly to take seriously at all.

Given that Evil Dead Rise certainly isn't intended to be as slapstick-infused as the earlier Sam Raimi entries, it brings this sequel to a rather lackluster conclusion.

Seeing the abomination get fed into a woodchipper is pretty damn metal, though - that's tough to deny.
