10. Tom Hiddleston
A classically trained actor of the highest caliber, Hiddleston has been pushed into the spotlight with his brilliant work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which has made him one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood. One of the few prominent modern actors who began on the stage, Hiddleston first brought his theatrical flair to the big screen in 2006's Unrelated which was well-received but not particularly widely seen. After extensive TV work, he became one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood in 2011 after starring in three major films: Thor, Midnight in Paris, and War Horse. In 2012's The Avengers, Hiddleston benefited from the pen of Joss Whedon as Loki managed to be charismatic, humorous and intimidating all at once and Hiddleston made him into arguably the most eloquent superhero villain of all time. Hiddleston's best attributes as actor are his natural charm and his voice. When given a script that takes advantage of his strengths, as Joss Whedon did in The Avengers, Hiddleston becomes a nearly overpowering screen presence. Hiddleston has an incredible ability to raise the level of whatever dialogue he is given and although he will be tied up in Marvel films for the foreseeable future, I can't wait to see what other roles he'll be able to turn his newfound fame into.
