10 Young Actresses Who Are Ready For Oscar Glory

8. Elizabeth Olsen

url-16 Elizabeth€™s first film was released all of two years ago and already I€™m comfortable ranking her this high. Did you see Martha Marcy May Marlene?! There is no question that Elizabeth can act. While her lineage is perhaps a little more entertainment relevant than Rooney€™s football family, before Sundance two years ago, was anybody anticipating that the little sister of the Olsen twins would become a high profile and highly acclaimed actress? She followed up her Martha Marcy May Marlene role with the lead in Silent House and it was her performance that saved it from being just a run of the mill horror picture. Last year she acted alongside notables like Catherine Keener, Robert De Niro, and Sigourney Weaver, and then played a precocious and love-struck student to perfection in the underrated romance Liberal Arts. This year we can look forward to seeing her in the Allen Ginsberg biopic Kill Your Darlings, starring with Dakota Fanning in Very Good Girls, and in Spike Lee€™s Oldboy. Whether one of those roles generates an Oscar nomination, I€™m not sure, but I would be very surprised if we don€™t hear Elizabeth delivering an acceptance speech by her thirtieth birthday.

I humbly claim the title of renaissance man. I am a professional writer (published playwright), college soccer coach, world traveler, crime-fighting vigilante, part-time juggler, serious hiker, coin collector, counseling student, and doting father/husband among many other roles. (OK, one of those may not be true.)
