10 Zombie Movies Where Everyone Dies
5. REC 3: Genesis (2012)
Rec 3 is the third installment in the Spanish found-footage horror franchise and acts as both a prequel and a parallel to the original two movies. Also, surprisingly it’s the first in the franchise that suddenly decides to switch to traditional filming about a third of the way into the movie.
It’s Koldo and Clara’s wedding day, and the celebrations are abruptly interrupted when an infected veterinarian (which connects the movies) becomes aggressive and starts biting the other guests. All hell breaks loose and the party soon becomes swarmed with the infected/possessed. It doesn’t take long for the majority of the guests to turn, leaving behind a handful of survivors who manage to escape. The loving couple gets separated and spends the remainder of the movie trying to reunite.
It’s a blood-soaked affair and Koldo and Clara, now infected herself, share one last kiss before they’re gunned down by police outside the venue as it becomes the subject of a quarantine.
Like many threequels, it is necessary to switch things up a little, and here viewers are rooting for these loving newlyweds to make it to the end. But even that is shamelessly stolen from audiences leaving us with yet another zombie outing where no one is left alive to tell the tale.
