4. Matt Damon Is... Cable
Matt Damon is an unbelievable character actor. From Good Will Hunting, to The Bourne Series, to The Departed, he has a range that's rare in Hollywood these days. I think he'd be perfect to bring Cable to the big screen. Part action hero, part grizzled warrior, Cable is the son of Scott Summers (Cyclops) and the Jean Grey clone, Madelyn Pryor. Cable was infected with a virus by Sinister, in an effort to defeat the mad mutant Lord Apocalypse. He was then sent to the future by his parents so a cure could be found for him. Matt Damon has all the tools to make Cable a viable three dimensional character, instead of just a time traveling bad-ass warrior (though that part's cool, too) What Damon would bring to the table, though, is the ability to play a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders - just like he did in movies like Contagion and Elysium. An angry, bitter, war weary soldier like Cable provides Matt Damon with a part where he could really flex his acting muscles and bring and underrated character to the MCU with conviction.
