11 Actors Who Won't Be Coming Back For Upcoming Sequels

4. Michelle Rodriguez - Avatar 2

Just as nobody thought there could possibly be four more Avatar movies anywhere but in James Cameron's brain and it happened anyway (at least the first two), Avatar 2 is pulling off some impossible moves. Interestingly that includes bringing two dead characters back from the other side, since Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver are both involved, somehow.

But even with the rules of mortality not applying, Cameron wasn't as keen to bring every character back. According to Michelle Rodriguez, the director didn't bother asking her.

“They’re bringing back a lot of other characters. I know [Sigourney Weaver’s] coming back and the guy who played the bad guy, [Stephen Lang], is coming back. But yeah, I’m not gonna be in it.”

What It Means For The Film:

Not a great deal. Rodriguez's character Trudy Chacón wasn't exactly integral to the film, even though she played a role in the climactic action. Leaving her out will mean very little to the wider mythology of the sequels even if it seems a little unfair.

But if the sequels are going to make money, it won't be because of her involvement anyway.
