4. Natalie Portman Vs Marvel - Thor: The Dark World
While we've seen the likes of Red Skull, Pepper Potts and General Ross all reappear in the MCU having been seemingly written out at one point, one name remains conspicuously absent from proceedings - that of Natatlie Portman's Jane Foster.
Despite the fact that she was actually given something interesting to do in her last MCU appearance - in Thor: The Dark World where she became a vessel for the Aether - she's not appeared since, thanks to a feud with the studio on that's film's choice of director.
Originally, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins was hired to make the Thor sequel, partly thanks to Portman's enthusiastic advocacy. Unfortunately, her backing of Jenkins went the same way as her support for original Jane's Got A Gun director Lynne Ramsay, who was sacked much to Portman's chagrin. Jenkins left the project over creative differences, and with Portman already losing her enthusiasm for the role (according to The Hollywood Reporter) and only excited to continue thanks to Jenkins, she only stayed on because she had to.
