11 Crucial Things Star Wars Episode 8 Needs

1. Rey Isn't Luke's Daughter

And finally, the most nagging question at the end of The Force Awakens concerns the parentage of Rey. Many believe, understandably so, that her father is Luke Skywalker, but considering how blatantly this was implied and how much J.J. Abrams loves to mislead audiences, wouldn't it just be too obvious and make any reveal massively underwhelming? Trying to tie all these characters together with familial links is just too convenient, so it'd be refreshing if Rey was simply a force-sensitive person who Luke perhaps looked over as a protector/father figure after her parents were killed, or something like that. If it's really as simple as yet another father-child reunion, then it's probably going to feel kinda stale and over-familiar. What are you hoping to see in Star Wars Episode VIII? Shout it out in the comments!
