Better known for his roles in comedies like Scary Movie and White Chicks, seeing Marlon Wayans’ name in the cast for Darren Aronofsky’s harrowing heroin addiction film Requiem for a Dream – a movie about as far from comedy as you can get – is slightly jarring.

Playing Tyrone C. Love, fellow heroin addict and best friend to Jared Leto’s character Harry, Wayans more than holds his own in a cast of dramatic actors that also includes Ellen Burstyn and Jennifer Connelly proving there’s much more to him as an actor than a few laughs.

Unfortunately, despite being rumoured to play legendary comedian Richard Pryor in a Lee Daniels directed biopic, Wayans – most recently scene in Fifty Shades of Grey parody, Fifty Shades of Black - has yet to wow audiences in another dramatic role.

Helen Jones hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
