Much like Batman Begins, it's easy to assume that Twilight exploded into an overnight billion dollar-grosser, but in fact, the original 2008 movie was a much more modest hit, even if it was still an astounding return on a $37 million budget, and of course served as the launching pad for the rest of the franchise, which has collectively grossed a mind-boggling $3.34 billion.

Never underestimate the potency of the hormonal teenage girl market, but at the same time, adults showed up in their droves to pay tribute to Hugh Jackman and his beloved portrayal of Logan one last time.

As much as many fans would love to see Logan take his claws to Edward Cullen, they'll have to settle for this box office slaying instead.
