Almost Famous should be heralded as a modern American classic for any number of reasons - it is arguably the finest rock and roll movie of any generation (aside from documentaries of course,) it gave us break-out roles for Kate Hudson, Billy Crudup and Anna Paquin, and introduced the world to Zooey Deschanel, and it is entertaining from top to bottom.
