11 Massive Questions For 2015's Biggest Remaining Films

11. Does Anyone REALLY Want To See A Film About A Mop?

And perhaps more importantly: is David O'Russell just trolling the world now? Having followed up the excellent, Oscar winning Silver Linings Playbook, the director made a serious power play, making basically the most David O Russell film ever conceivable, with heavyweight performances, a dictionary worth of dialogue and oodles of Awards clout. But something didn't quite work, and American Hustle wasn't the universally adored triumph it probably should have been. And instead of trying again, Russell has resorted to making a movie about the woman who invented the Magic Mop. Seriously. Joy feels like an experiment into the star pull of Jennifer Lawrence. Like an exercise in seeing where its breaking point is: can she literally be dropped into a boring sounding biopic whose trailer says absolutely nothing about the subject and still draw in audiences? Best Guess Answer David O Russell probably doesn't care what anyone thinks of his movies. As long as he's able to lead different projects with J-Law and Bradley Cooper at the top of his bill, he'll probably be entirely content.
