7. Penn & Teller Get Killed
OK, so magicians Penn & Teller aren't really actors. Oh, and Penn & Teller Get Killed isn't a very good film. But it's certainly worth mentioning here, simply because it's one of the earliest examples of this style of filmmaking in practice. The film is basically a vehicle for various practical jokes, mirroring what the duo assumes their fans think they get up to on a day-to-day basis. It's deeply parodic and exaggerated, in a way that is reminiscent of many others on this list. It can certainly be linked to their self-conscious style of magic shows, in which they deconstruct tricks and show the apparatus behind them. P&TGK may not be particularly good, but it was ahead of its time - fairly typical of these two geniuses of the magic world.
