2. Godzilla - Kong: Skull Island
What's your favorite part of King Kong? Did you say Godzilla? Well, okay, yes, that's a good point, Godzilla is the best thing about King Kong. You're not alone in that belief either.
After an entire film about Kong and his island of monsters and threats, the film ends with the reveal of a bunch of images, revealing that Titans like Kong are common across Earth and are returning. The final shot is of King Kong, Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah fighting - as will be seen in the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
Oh, wait. Kong isn't in it. Not in the movie, not in the image. It is just a tease for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, having nothing to do with King Kong. Oh, but wait, there's more! Because before this movie came out, we already knew that there was going to be a King Kong vs Godzilla film coming. So with this post-credit scene, we know - Godzilla 2 is coming before KvG. It's not going to feature Kong. And Godzilla definitely ain't gonna die, cause he's got another movie.
Post-credit teases work in Marvel because they build on each other. This one is like having a trailer for a completely seperate movie just tacked onto the end.
